Please read these terms carefully before using LifeOS. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LifeOS ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of the Service.
2. Description of Service
LifeOS is a privacy-focused personal productivity application that allows users to manage goals, projects, tasks, journal entries, and related content. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis, with optional paid cloud storage.
The core application is free to use. Paid features are limited to cloud storage and data synchronization across devices.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. By registering, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and complete.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use LifeOS only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service to store, transmit, or distribute illegal content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
5. Pricing and Billing
5.1 Free Tier
The core features of LifeOS are provided free of charge. The free tier does not include cloud storage or cross-device synchronization.
5.2 Storage Plan
Cloud storage is available starting at $2.99 per month, which includes 5 GB of storage. Additional storage is billed at $0.50 per GB per month.
5.3 Billing Cycle
Subscriptions are billed monthly. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
5.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period. After cancellation, cloud storage will no longer be available, but your locally-stored data remains yours.
6. Intellectual Property
All content you create and store in LifeOS ("User Content") remains your property. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, transmit, and display your User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
The LifeOS application, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our application without explicit written permission.
7. Data Ownership and Export
Your data is yours. You can export all of your data at any time in a portable format. We will not hold your data hostage or prevent you from leaving the Service.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain a high level of availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time and will endeavor to provide advance notice for planned downtime.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LifeOS and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination, we will provide you with an opportunity to export your data within 30 days.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the application at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.
